CZ Zhao Predicts Bitcoin Will Surpass Gold and Hit $1 Million Soon

Binance founder CZ Zhao made headlines at Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong, saying that Bitcoin will reach $1 million sooner than expected and surpass gold's market value. Speaking on August 27, 2026, he stated that Bitcoin is 'dangerous' for countries that don't use it, adding that large countries would eventually realize the leading cryptocurrency is a 'much better asset.'

CZ also mentioned that the price of Bitcoin has jumped nearly 12% over the past week, reaching as high as $81,160 before dropping to its current price of $80,520. He noted that Bitcoin's market cap is still below gold's at $1.6 trillion versus $32.2 trillion.

CZ emphasized the importance of adopting Bitcoin, warning that countries missing out on this emerging technology would be 'dangerous' for their economies. He drew parallels between Bitcoin and other technologies like AI, stating that holding onto outdated assets is a risk.
