Czech Bank Partners Banka Launches Bitcoin Trading in Mobile App
Partners Banka, a Czech financial institution, has become the first bank in the country to integrate bitcoin buying and selling directly into its mobile banking app. The service, launched in Prague on 5 August 2026 and set to go live on 10 August, was made possible through a partnership with Anycoin, the largest Czech crypto exchange. Customers can now open a crypto account within the Partners app, starting with as little as 500 Czech crowns, without needing separate exchange registrations or wallet management.
The bank emphasizes that the service is designed for small, experimental investments rather than core savings. Trades are capped between 500 and 1 million crowns, with fees only applied during transactions. Anycoin handles the execution and custody of bitcoin, operating under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, which took effect in July 2026.
Petr Borkovec, CEO of Partners Banka, noted that while bitcoin remains a risky asset, the integration aims to simplify access for customers. An Ipsos survey revealed that 47 percent of Czechs have some connection to bitcoin, with 17 percent having invested personally. The bank advises customers to use only disposable income and to spread purchases over time to manage risk.
Marek Kyrsch, director of Anycoin, described the launch as a step toward normalizing digital assets in modern financial services. The move aligns with Partners Banka’s strategy of consolidating customers’ financial lives within a single app, addressing barriers such as fear of risk and limited knowledge.
