Czech Crypto-Laundering Defendant Signals Cooperation

Share

Tomáš Jiříkovský, a programmer linked to darknet operations and money laundering in one of the Czech Republic's highest-profile crypto-laundering cases, has indicated he may cooperate with authorities.

The shift came after a custody hearing at the Brno Municipal Court, where Judge Ivana Otrubová ordered that Jiříkovský remain in detention as the case proceeds.

Jiříkovský had consistently refused to speak with investigators, but prosecutor Lucie Šlamová reported a change in his stance after the latest court session.

The prosecutors are seeking up to a 20-year prison sentence alongside asset confiscation for Jiříkovský's alleged operation of darknet platforms and laundering large volumes of criminal proceeds.
