D3 Links Internet Domains to Blockchain Networks with Frontier Launch

D3 has launched Frontier, a membership programme that grants priority access to new internet top-level domains. This development is tied to ICANN's latest expansion round for domain extensions.

The programme allows members to deposit eligible assets with supported vault providers on Solana and Hyperliquid, earning Frontier Points in the process. These points can then be used to secure priority for names from participating registries before general registration.

The launch links the market for internet domains with digital asset networks at a time when ICANN is running only its second application round for new domains in the internet's history. The previous round, in 2012, resulted in roughly 1,200 new top-level domains, including .xyz and .app.

Frontier aims to broaden access to a market that has often been dominated by registry operators, specialist brokers, and domain investors. Under the model, users do not need a direct relationship with a registry to participate in the priority process.
