DaLand’s Coin2Core Certified as Core-Native Digital Asset Bridge for Banks and Credit Unions
DaLand CUSO has achieved a significant milestone with the certification of its Coin2Core platform, which bridges traditional banking institutions to digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, XRP, Solana, and others. The platform earned the first Blockchain Maturity Model (BMM) Level 4 “Production” rating from the Government Blockchain Association, validating its strategy of integrating digital assets directly into core banking systems.
The certification underscores DaLand’s approach of keeping digital assets within the core banking operations, making them visible to examiners and reported on standard statements. This contrasts with third-party solutions that often operate outside the core, potentially sending customers and capital elsewhere. Coin2Core runs natively on major core systems like Corelation KeyStone, Jack Henry Symitar, and Fiserv DNA, and is already in production at credit unions like St. Cloud Financial Credit Union.
DaLand emphasizes that Coin2Core was built by banking professionals with deep core system knowledge, ensuring seamless integration and operational security. The platform is collaboratively owned by the institutions it serves, providing them with a direct bridge to emerging financial networks rather than relying on external vendors. Jon Ungerland, CIO of DaLand CUSO, highlighted that the certification confirms the validity of their core-centric strategy.
The alternative approaches, such as bolt-on wallets or referring customers to large exchanges, can lead to lost customer relationships and capital leakage. DaLand argues that technology should strengthen, not replace, the role of credit unions. The MIDAS Hybrid Custody architecture behind Coin2Core distributes key control across secure environments, requiring coordinated authorization before any asset moves, and provides individual private keys for each account.
The Blockchain Maturity Model rating provides credit unions with independent evidence to guide their digital asset infrastructure decisions. Gerard Daché, executive director of the Government Blockchain Association, described Coin2Core as “the most trusted blockchain solution in the world,” further endorsing its reliability and security.
