Dalio Keeps 1% of Portfolio in Bitcoin, Prefers Gold
Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, has shared his views on Bitcoin and gold as store-of-value assets.
In a recent appearance on The Diary Of A CEO program, Dalio mentioned that about 1% of his portfolio is invested in Bitcoin. He considers it 'money that can't be printed', but notes that he prefers to hold more of his wealth in gold.
Dalio suggests that most people should have between 5% and 15% of their portfolio allocated to hard monetary assets, with gold being the preferred choice within this category.
The investor cites several reasons for preferring gold over Bitcoin. He believes that the latter is exposed to risks related to quantum computing, government surveillance, and taxation. Additionally, he argues that central banks will not hold significant amounts of Bitcoin due to its lack of privacy and control.
