Dartmouth Endowment's Crypto Exposure Drops $2M Amid Price Declines
Dartmouth College's $9 billion endowment has seen its crypto exposure decline by over $2 million in three months. The value of this investment, which was reported to be worth around $14.6 million as of March 31, dropped to approximately $12.4 million by June 30.
This decrease is attributed to the falling prices of the assets tied to each exchange-traded fund (ETF). Since March 31, the price of Bitcoin has fallen by about 7.7% to around $62,915, Solana's price dropped by 9.6% to $75.11, and Ether's price declined by 10.8% to $1,875.
The Dartmouth endowment added crypto exposure to its portfolio in 2025, making it one of the first US universities to invest in digital assets. This move was a significant step for the institution, which aimed to diversify its investment portfolio and potentially generate higher returns.
