The recent Bitcoin hard fork has led to a dispute between the developer of Bitcoin Knots, Luke Dashjr, and major exchanges. Dashjr claims that these exchanges are selling 'fake bitcoins' because they failed to run their own full nodes.

In an interview, Dashjr stated that competent operators would never list the SHA-256 chain, which he refers to as 'Spamcoin'. He believes that exchanges that did list it were either incompetent or intentionally fraudulent.

The Bitcoin hard fork switched from SHA-256 to BLAKE2b, making existing ASIC rigs obsolete. Dashjr resigned as chairman and CTO of OCEAN mining pool before the split and now leads CONVOY Mining.
