Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr has parted ways with Ocean, a mining pool he co-founded. The split is attributed to differing views on the future of Bitcoin mining and recent protocol developments. Both parties agreed to the separation by mutual consent.

Dashjr resigned as chairman, chief technology officer, and director at Ocean. His entire equity stake in the company was repurchased by parent firm Mummolin. The value of the buyback remains undisclosed.

Following his departure from Ocean, Dashjr is set to launch a new mining venture called Convoy. In contrast, Ocean will continue operating its transparent and non-custodial pool, which directly pays mining rewards to participating miners.
