Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr has parted ways with Ocean, the mining pool he co-founded in 2023. The split was amicable and by mutual agreement between Dashjr and Ocean's parent company, Mummolin Inc. According to the joint statement, Dashjr resigned as chairman, CTO, and director of Ocean on August 29.

The separation is linked to recent protocol developments, particularly the BIP-110 proposal, which Dashjr has been vocal about. He argued for changes to Bitcoin's rules and was at the center of a controversy earlier this year over the proposal to restrict certain inscriptions on the network.

Dashjr will now focus on Convoy, a new mining venture he announced under the handle @CONVOY_Mining. Convoy aims to continue the mission of decentralizing Bitcoin mining, which was also one of Ocean's goals.
