DCENT Issues Urgent Security Warning for App Wallet Users Amid Unauthorized Transactions

South Korean crypto wallet provider DCENT has issued an urgent security warning for users of its software-based App Wallet. The company detected unusual transfers associated with unauthorized transactions and is investigating, posing a risk that could affect multiple networks, including the XRP Ledger.

DCENT urges all App Wallet users to update their application to version 10.0.0 and then run the 'check if a transaction is needed' step within the app. The company advises against conducting transactions through the app until the update is complete and recommends transferring assets to another wallet created with a new recovery phrase.

The affected addresses are those that have previously entered a recovery phrase into the App Wallet, signed in an application older than version 8.1.0, or have signature history for token and NFT transfers, token approvals, or decentralized application transactions. This includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP Ledger, TRON, EVM-based networks, and other chains that may be affected.

DCENT has also issued warnings against fake support attempts, stating it does not use official Telegram or Discord support channels and will never request recovery phrases, wallet keys, or PINs via direct messages. The company emphasizes that users should be cautious of scammers trying to take advantage of the situation.
