D'CENT Wallet Hackers Drain $3.8 Million in XRP Over 10-Day Period

A security breach targeting the D'CENT App Wallet has resulted in the theft of approximately 12.4 million XRP from 7,393 wallets over a 10-day period.

The attack began on September 15 and continued until September 25, with attackers exploiting compromised private keys to drain funds from wallets tied to older versions of the app.

The first wave was the worst, with around 3.6 million XRP being stolen in under three hours from 1,682 wallets.

Roughly half of the total haul has already been laundered through cross-chain swaps using THORChain, a decentralized liquidity protocol.
