D'CENT Wallet Security Issue Triggers Urgent User Alert Amid Market Dips
IoTrust has issued an urgent security alert related to its D'CENT wallet brand after detecting abnormal asset transfers tied to its app wallet on September 16. The company is currently conducting an emergency investigation and advises users to move their holdings out of the affected app immediately.
The issue appears to be limited to the D'CENT app wallet, with no impact confirmed on D'CENT hardware wallets. Users holding assets in the app wallet or sharing a mnemonic phrase between the app and a hardware wallet are urged to transfer funds to a secure address right away.
IoTrust warns against opportunistic scams, stating that it will never ask users for recovery phrases or private keys, nor will it request that funds be sent to a separate address for 'recovery' or 'compensation'. The company has also clarified that D'CENT has no official support accounts on X.
The D'CENT wallet security issue has already left a mark on short-term sentiment in South Korea's crypto market, with a reported -4.99% decline in market cap and Bitcoin dominance at 58.54%. IoTrust will provide further guidance once it confirms the cause, scope of impact, and response measures needed.
