DeFi Lending TVL Surpasses $50B as Sector Sees 21% Growth
The total value locked (TVL) in decentralized finance (DeFi) lending protocols has reached a new milestone, surpassing $50.2 billion on September 8th, according to CertiK Skynet data.
This represents a 21% increase over the preceding 30 days and marks a significant growth trend for DeFi lending.
The top protocols by TVL include Aave, Morpho, Spark, and Maple Finance, with Aave maintaining consistent top rankings across CertiK's security-weighted metrics.
This growth can be attributed to rising collateral values in major assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, which allows borrowers to access larger loan positions without depositing additional assets.
