DeFi Technologies Braces for Make-or-Break Q2 Results
DeFi Technologies is gearing up for what could be a pivotal moment on August 13 when it releases its second-quarter results. Investors will be looking for signs that the company's painful year-long slide is finally bottoming out, and that management's promised pivot toward institutional products is gaining traction.
The stock has clawed back 15.48% over the past seven sessions, but remains down 33.78% year-to-date and 26% above its 52-week low of €0.3408. CEO Johan Wattenström recently published an open letter to shareholders addressing the decline, attributing it to a soft altcoin market and delays in EU regulatory approval for new UCITS-compliant products.
Wattenström pushed back against concerns that the weakness reflects structural problems, describing technical effects tied to an earlier capital raise as one-off events rather than signs of underlying fragility. He underscored the company's strategic shift toward institutional fund platforms, a diversification play that positions DeFi Technologies to benefit from the broader maturation of Europe's digital asset ecosystem.
