DeFi TVL Jumps 38% to $95 Billion as Tokenized Stocks and Big Banks Take Notice
DeFi's Total Value Locked (TVL) has seen a significant increase in Q3 2026, rising by 38% to $95 billion. This marks a recovery from its previous decline, which hit a low of $69 billion in June 2026. The growth is not isolated to one month, with TVL increasing in July, August, and September by 7%, 15%, and 11% respectively.
Ethereum still holds the largest share of DeFi's TVL at around $53.7 billion. However, Monad's TVL shot up by a notable 183% in Q3. Robinhood Chain, which went live in July, has already surpassed $1 billion in TVL.
The increasing adoption of tokenized stocks is also contributing to DeFi's growth. According to Token Terminal, there are now around $252 million worth of tokenized stocks deposited across DeFi protocols. This figure was close to zero until early 2025 and has been steadily growing since then.
