DeFi's 'Uber Path': Aave Founder Sees Mainstream Potential
Aave founder Stani Kulechov has suggested that decentralized finance (DeFi) could follow in the footsteps of ride-hailing giant Uber, becoming a ubiquitous and mainstream financial service.
This 'Uber path' for DeFi was proposed by Kulechov after the Clarity Act, which aimed to provide clarity on how DeFi protocols would be treated under securities laws, failed to pass a Senate vote in the US.
Kulechov has stated that DeFi needs to become more user-friendly and accessible to the general public if it is to achieve mainstream adoption. He believes that this can be achieved through education and awareness campaigns, as well as by making DeFi protocols easier to use and understand.
