Dehradun Trader Duped of Rs 1.5cr in Cryptocurrency and Forex Scam
A 55-year-old trader in Dehradun has been duped of nearly Rs 1.5cr by six individuals who promised him high returns on investments in online foreign exchange and cryptocurrency trading.
The accused, including Lavish Choudhary from Muzaffarnagar and an unidentified director of a Noida-based investment firm, allegedly contacted the trader in 2024 and convinced him to invest a substantial amount with promises of monthly interest ranging from 5-8% along with returns of 15% per month.
The trader, Chandra Vallabh Pant, invested nearly Rs 1.5cr, but when he tried to withdraw his money, he was allegedly asked to deposit more on the pretext of duties and other charges.
Police have registered an FIR against the accused and are investigating the case.
