Democrats Block Clarity Act Amid Partisan Politics

The Clarity Act, a proposed federal regulatory framework for digital assets in the US, is facing an unexpected obstacle: partisan politics. Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci has warned that Democrats will block the bill because they dislike Trump, and not due to any concerns about its substance.

Pro-XRP lawyer John E. Deaton agrees with Scaramucci, stating that Democrats prioritize party over country. He notes that the opposition is not driven by ethics or policy considerations, but rather a desire to deny Trump a legislative victory before the midterms.

The bill has already passed the Senate Banking Committee and has been on the Senate calendar since June. However, it requires 60 votes to pass, and without Democratic support, its passage is uncertain. Scaramucci estimates the odds of passage at roughly 40%.
