Democrats Target Trump Family Business Deals Amid Congressional Power Shift
Democrats are planning to investigate President Trump's family and business dealings if they take control of either chamber in Congress after November. Atop their hit list is Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law, due to his involvement with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and a $2 billion investment secured by his private equity firm, Affinity Partners.
Kushner has been accused of being both a diplomat and a financial pawn of the Saudi monarchy. Senator Ruben Gallego, an Arizona Democrat, stated that Kushner is at the top of his list to investigate. The investigation would likely focus on Kushner's Gulf money dealings and his business ties with Saudi Arabia.
Democrats have also set their sights on Donald Trump Jr.'s crypto empire, World Liberty Financial, which he co-founded along with Eric Trump and Zach and Alex Witkoff. Connecticut Democrat Richard Blumenthal is planning to examine the financial ties between the administration and Tether, a stablecoin issuer that has been accused of enabling Iran to evade sanctions during the war.
