Democrats Vow to Revive Crypto Clarity Bill After Senate Setback
Seven US Democratic Senators remain committed to passing the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, despite its failure to pass the Senate's procedural vote on Tuesday.
The bill, which has been in development for two years, aims to 'expand opportunity, protect consumers, punish bad actors, create regulatory certainty, and include strong, commonsense ethics provisions for elected officials.'
The senators, including Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), Mark Warner (D-VA), and Raphael Warnock (D-GA), stated that 'this week was a setback, but not the end of that important work.'
Financial analysts at StoneX believe the bill is dead for this Congress due to the limited time remaining before the campaign season, but others expect regulators to fill the gap through specific rule-making.
