Deribit Secures Broker-Dealer Licence from Dubai's VARA

Coinbase's subsidiary Deribit has secured a Broker-Dealer Licence from Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, expanding its regulated operations in the emirate.

The licence allows spot buy, sell and trade orders placed through Deribit to be routed to Coinbase Exchange for execution, giving Deribit customers access to Coinbase's centralized order book.

This integration significantly expands available spot liquidity and will eventually add hundreds of assets to a platform historically dominated by Bitcoin and Ether derivatives.

The upgraded spot service is rolling out immediately, subject to regulatory requirements and customer eligibility.
