Deutsche Bank Eyes Late 2026 Launch for Crypto Custody Service
Deutsche Bank is set to launch its crypto custody service in the latter part of 2026, pending regulatory approval. The platform will initially support Bitcoin, Ethereum, and selected regulated stablecoins. According to Deutsche Bank, possible customers include asset managers, hedge funds, custodians, brokers, sovereigns, corporations, and blockchain companies.
The bank has collaborated with third-party providers, including Taurus, for cryptocurrency infrastructure. Deutsche Bank's security framework will protect client assets through key protection, hardware storage, and transaction approval processes.
The launch of the crypto custody service is subject to completion of the necessary regulatory procedures, which include Article 60 notification to BaFin and Bundesbank in Germany. The bank has not specified a definitive launch date but anticipates operation by the end of 2026.
