Deutsche Bank, Germany's largest bank, has made a significant move into the cryptocurrency space by announcing plans to launch a digital asset custody service for its corporate clients. The new service, which will initially support Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as select stablecoins, is expected to be available later this year once regulatory requirements are met.

The bank emphasized that the exact launch date has not yet been determined and depends on the completion of necessary regulatory processes. Deutsche Bank will manage wallets and private keys on behalf of clients, eliminating the need for institutional clients to establish their own in-house cryptocurrency custody infrastructure.

The new service is targeted at corporate and business clients, including corporations, asset managers, hedge funds, custodians, brokerage firms, and government agencies. Client acceptance will be carried out in accordance with Deutsche Bank's criteria, due diligence requirements, and risk assessments.
