Digital Commodities Buys C$100,000 of Solana Amid Two-Tier Treasury Strategy
Digital Commodities Inc., a Vancouver-based company, has made its first move into Solana by purchasing C$100,000 of the asset for its treasury. This acquisition represents about 5% of the company's estimated net asset value as of September 28, 2026.
The purchase was funded through the sale of a portion of the company's physical gold holdings. The company has adopted a two-tier digital asset treasury strategy, with one tier focused on Bitcoin and another for assets that management believes may benefit from artificial intelligence-related blockchain activity.
Solana was chosen for its role in programmable finance, stablecoins, tokenization, and transaction processing, according to the company. Brayden Sutton, Chief Executive Officer, stated that Bitcoin remains the foundation of their treasury and that they funded the initial Solana position by monetizing a portion of their physical gold holdings.
