DigitalOcean has launched Agent Droplets, a new subscription-based service that bundles agent infrastructure into a commodity SKU.

The move is seen as an attempt to simplify total cost of ownership (TCO) for crypto and Web3 projects, DeFi/DEX analytics, and CEX tooling that need predictable AI costs.

Agent Droplets offers three tiers: a $5 free trial, a $50/month Pro plan, and a $200/month Team plan. The service bundles compute via dedicated Firecracker microVMs, memory, session storage, inference on hosted models like Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3, and access to over 16,000 tools.

DigitalOcean's CTO Vinay Kumar said the strategy is to make agent infrastructure easy to understand and afford, just as Droplets did in 2011.
