Dinari and Kakaopay Team Up to Tokenize Korean Equities for Global Distribution
Kakaopay Securities and Dinari are teaming up to explore tokenizing Korean-listed shares for international distribution, including in the United States.
The partnership aims to create a framework for sourcing underlying Korean equities and conducting a proof-of-concept for tokenization, with a joint task force planned for later this year.
Kakaopay Securities' Executive Vice President Inyoung Chung said the company wants to develop a concrete framework for distributing Korean equities internationally, starting with sourcing listed shares and moving into a tokenization proof of concept.
Dinari CEO Gabe Otte noted that access to Korean public companies remains limited for many investors outside South Korea, often relying on instruments like depositary receipts, which are available for only a portion of Korean-listed companies.
