Dnipro Police Chief Under Investigation for Undeclared Crypto Holdings
Ruslan Netudykhata, the head of Dnipro’s migration police, is facing scrutiny after failing to declare half of his cryptocurrency holdings. An investigation revealed that his public wallet on the Tron network contained approximately 82,000 USDT, valued at around $82,000 or 3.6 million UAH. However, his official declaration only accounted for 41,500 USDT, worth 1.7 million UAH, claiming the cryptocurrency was a gift from his mother, Lyudmila Netudykhata, along with an additional 54,000 UAH in cash.
The discrepancy suggests that Netudykhata omitted a substantial portion of his assets. The undeclared balance alone, equivalent to another 1.7 million UAH, could prompt a separate inquiry by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP). The agency may investigate whether the missing funds were acquired through legitimate means or if they represent a violation of declaration requirements.
Netudykhata’s role as the head of a department that investigates human trafficking and prostitution adds weight to the situation. The case highlights ongoing concerns about transparency and accountability among public officials in Ukraine, particularly regarding cryptocurrency holdings, which can be difficult to trace and regulate.
