DOGE Breaks Descending Channel as Trading Activity Surges

Dogecoin has broken out of its descending channel, and with it, a surge in trading activity. The memecoin saw a daily increase of 13.04% at press time, accompanied by rising spot volume that increased 239.5% to around $3.48 billion in 24 hours.

The price rally carried stronger market involvement than a low-volume recovery would have offered, and the broader market activity shifted towards memecoins during the recent session.

However, despite the strong trading activity, selling pressure still exists across spot and futures markets, and derivatives' positioning suggests that market participants are introducing fresh liquidity rather than closing existing exposure.

The open interest in Dogecoin's derivatives market surged 24.01% to $1.66 billion as it pushed towards the $0.10 zone, but this also increased the memecoin's sensitivity to sudden price swings and leveraged position unwinding.
