Dogecoin Eyes Breakout as ETF Inflows and DogeOS Boost Momentum
Dogecoin [$DOGE] continues to surprise the crypto market with its resilience and recent gains. The meme-inspired cryptocurrency has seen a notable uptick in value, driven by several concurrent factors. Notably, Dogecoin ETFs have recorded three consecutive weeks of inflows, totaling approximately $3.5 million. The initial week (ending September 18) brought in $284,500, followed by a significant surge to $2.8 million the next week. The latest week saw inflows of $327,360.
While these numbers might seem modest compared to Bitcoin ETF standards, they represent a substantial shift for Dogecoin. The assets under management for Dogecoin ETFs grew from around $12 million in mid-September to $16.2 million at press time. This steady influx suggests a growing interest in the memecoin-based product.
Additionally, the DogeOS public testnet launched on September 30, allowing developers to test payments, trading, lending, and gaming applications built on Dogecoin. However, it's important to note that fees on the testnet are paid in test $DOGE, which holds no real value. DogeOS is not an upgrade to Dogecoin itself but rather a separate layer built around it, offering potential future utility.
As for Dogecoin's price, it was trading at $0.0946 at press time, marking a nearly 20% increase from its mid-September low of $0.079. The token briefly reached $0.106 on September 21 before fluctuating between $0.091 and $0.099 in the subsequent two weeks. Technical indicators, such as the RSI and OBV, suggest that buyers from the recent rally may be holding steady. A clean break above $0.10 could provide the momentum needed for a more significant upward move.
