Dogecoin Rises on DogeOS Launch, Whale Accumulation, and ETF Flows
Over the past 43 hours, Dogecoin's price has risen by roughly 3%, thanks to a confluence of modest but real bullish catalysts. The launch of DogeOS, a zero-knowledge rollup that allows developers to deploy smart contract-style apps using DOGE for fees, is one such factor.
DogeOS' public testnet went live on September 30th, and while DOGE's price barely moved immediately, it has stayed near its late September highs as traders evaluated the implications. The narrative around DogeOS is that it introduces utility one layer above the L1, keeping it simple while allowing for a DeFi ecosystem.
Whale accumulation and ETF inflows are also contributing to the bullish sentiment. Large wallets holding 10-100 million DOGE added approximately $110 million in coins between September 24th and 27th, while Dogecoin spot ETFs on US and European venues have seen record weekly net inflows of around $2.9 million.
The market backdrop is also supportive, with the total crypto market cap rising by 1.8% over the last week and sentiment indicators sitting in 'Greed' territory. DOGE's price has been testing the $0.10 resistance level, which could be a key support zone if it flips to support.
