Dogecoin Stalls Below $0.10 as DogeOS Launches DeFi Testnet
Dogecoin remains below the $0.10 price level despite the launch of DogeOS, a new application layer built around the meme-based cryptocurrency. The public testnet for DogeOS is now open, allowing developers to experiment with various services, including payments, trading, lending, and games, that use DOGE.
The testnet uses test DOGE for fees, which has no market value and can be obtained through a faucet provided for developers. While the launch of DogeOS brings new uses to Dogecoin, it is a separate project from the main cryptocurrency and not an upgrade to its blockchain.
Despite the lack of a significant price response, Dogecoin has remained above several levels that previously held it back, indicating that buyers have taken back control after the price recovered from its August lows. The next hurdle for Dogecoin is the $0.10 price level, which it briefly moved above in September but was unable to sustain.
The area between the $0.092 and $0.093 price levels is currently providing support for Dogecoin, and if it loses this range, it could fall towards the $0.087 price level. The launch of DogeOS provides Dogecoin with a fresh development story, but traders are waiting to see stronger evidence of adoption before reacting to the news.
