Dogecoin Team Fools Community with April Fools' Post
The Dogecoin (DOGE) team has been caught faking an April Fools' post announcing a corporate overhaul, sparking both amusement and skepticism within the community.
The post, made on April 1st, claimed that DOGE would be rebranding as DogeCoin Financial Solutions LLC, retiring its iconic Shiba Inu logo in favor of a 'tasteful navy blue emblem', and publishing a 67-page whitepaper titled Toward a Synergistic Decentralized Liquidity Framework.
The team also stated that it would be rebranding the community from the DOGE Army to 'stakeholders' and dropping the words 'wow,' 'much,' and 'very' from all communications, citing legal reasons for the language ban.
However, most community members quickly identified the post as an April Fools' joke. BuildrJ, a founding member of DogeOS, even added to the bit by claiming that DogeCoin Financial Solutions had signed an LOI to acquire DogeOS and MyDoge, and that the deal included the release of MyDoge V3 as an 'AI-powered astronomy app.'
Beneath the humor, however, lies a real story. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez reported on X that Dogecoin's active addresses rose 28% in seven days, climbing from 57,000 to 73,000.
