DogeOS Testnet Live: EVM-Compat Apps But No Mainnet Date
DogeOS has launched its public testnet for developers to build EVM-compatible apps on the Dogecoin network. The testnet allows users to deploy contracts and claim test DOGE tokens, but most of the announced applications remain unverified.
The project's application layer is designed as a zero-knowledge rollup that settles its state to Dogecoin, but the current setup relies on validators, a trusted execution environment, and a permissioned sequencer. The system does not yet have direct security verification from Dogecoin miners.
DogeOS founder Jordan Jefferson said the team would share a mainnet timeline as it reaches development milestones, but no date has been set. The absence of a date leaves several important questions open about when applications will launch and who will control early operations.
