DogeOS Tests DeFi, Remittix Rolls Out PayFi
Dogecoin's latest development story is no longer just about a meme. DogeOS, a project from the MyDoge wallet team, has opened a public testnet for DeFi applications, giving holders a possible reason to do more than wait for the next price surge. The DogeOS testnet is an early proving ground for a successful application layer that could broaden the asset's narrative if developers build tools that people actually use.
The public testnet includes applications for DeFi, gaming, and AI experiences. DOGE traded around $0.096 in early October. Traders will watch what applications attract users as the project progresses.
Remittix, another project, is testing a payments app called PayFi. One thousand existing RTX holders have been invited to test the EUR and USD opening phase. The app aims to take supported crypto and arrange fiat delivery through compatible bank accounts. This repeated use is the commercial heart of the idea.
The global remittances market reaches hundreds of billions of dollars annually, and a sliver of that market could mean close to a billion dollars in yearly transfers through an app. Fees on such volume could become meaningful revenue, with RTX intended for settlement and staking as the ecosystem grows.
