DogeOS Unleashes Public Testnet for Dogecoin Applications
DogeOS, a blockchain platform for Dogecoin applications, has launched its public testnet. This allows developers to build and test new services using DOGE, including lending, stablecoins, games, and trading.
The testnet is designed to run smart contracts on a separate network from the main Dogecoin chain. Fees are paid in DOGE, which can be used for application execution, publishing data, and updating the Dogecoin bridge. The current implementation involves using a bridge to move assets between networks, with transactions taking up to four hours.
Jordan Jefferson, CEO of DogeOS, noted that bridge state changes require valid proofs, signatures from a majority of validators, and a signer operating in a trusted execution environment. This adds an extra layer of security and control beyond standard Dogecoin transfers.
