The US Justice Department is investigating whether Binance Holdings Ltd. has adhered to the terms of its 2023 settlement agreement with the US government. Authorities are examining potential violations of Iran sanctions through activity on Binance's platform.

Tysen Duva, head of the DOJ’s criminal division, confirmed in a recent interview that officials are reviewing Binance’s compliance with the agreement. He declined to provide specifics or indicate whether Binance is in violation of the settlement, which required the company to pay a $4.3 billion penalty, plead guilty to violating banking rules, and implement stricter compliance controls.
