DOJ Shuts Down Hamas Crypto Fundraising Operation with $560K Seizure
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has taken a major hit against Hamas, seizing over $560,000 in cryptocurrency that was allegedly intended for the group's military wing. The funds were seized under three unsealed warrants issued in March, June, and October 2025.
According to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, the action is a 'massive blow' to Hamas, which has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
The seized cryptocurrency was reportedly promoted through an encrypted group chat and a fundraising website used by Hamas supporters.
Pirro noted that the DOJ now has 'the names and identities of thousands of individuals who tried to give money to Hamas' that were intercepted during the operation.
