Dollar's Rise No Match for Bitcoin's Resilience
Bitcoin has proven its resilience in the face of a stronger US Dollar Index. In September, the DXY rose nearly 2% to reach 101.61, its highest level since late July.
This move defied the traditional playbook, where a rising dollar typically correlates with a declining Bitcoin price. However, this month's data suggests that the relationship between these two assets is shifting.
Bitcoin surged over 40% from its July lows of approximately $58,500 in Q3 2026, driven largely by institutional appetite and record weekly inflows approaching $2.4 billion into spot Bitcoin ETFs.
The 10-year Treasury yield surpassed 5%, indicating a higher cost of capital across the entire economy. This has raised questions about whether ETF inflows can continue to offset these headwinds in a higher-rate environment.
