DoorDash and Tempo Partner for Stablecoin Payouts Across Global Markets
DoorDash is integrating stablecoin payouts on the Tempo network for its merchants. Tempo was built jointly by Stripe and venture firm Paradigm as a blockchain designed specifically for payment workloads.
The Tempo chain offers sub-second settlement, fixed dollar-denominated fees, reserved blockspace, private transaction zones, and built-in tools for batching disbursements.
DoorDash operates in more than 40 countries and processed nearly $75 billion in merchant sales last year. The company wants to reduce currency conversion costs and slow settlement times across its markets.
Andy Fang, co-founder of DoorDash, said there's 'real promise with stablecoins transforming financial infrastructure.' He stated the company wants to be a proactive participant rather than passive one, starting with merchant payouts where speed and cost savings are most immediate.
