Dormant $8M Bitcoin Wallet Awakens Amid NY Court Case
A long-dormant Bitcoin wallet has been awakened after over 14 years of inactivity. The wallet, which was first credited on November 2, 2011, with 100 BTC, remained untouched until it was moved recently.
The address 'Noah Doe #3113' is associated with this wallet and the tokens were sent in block 967732. This move comes as part of a New York Supreme Court case filed by plaintiffs 'Noah Doe' and two unnamed Wyoming LLCs seeking to claim ownership over more than 3.7 million BTC tied to 39,069 addresses.
The coins are believed to have been mined before Bitcoin's first halving event in November 2012. Of the 10.5 million BTC issued across 210,000 blocks before the halving, a significant portion remains unspent, including some linked to Satoshi Nakamoto.
