A dormant Bitcoin wallet has come back to life after an astonishing 14.2 years of inactivity, moving 600 BTC worth approximately $51.15 million on September 22.

The transaction was reported by Whale Alert and shows the address had not been used since July 2012, when the price of Bitcoin hovered around $7 per coin.

Using a historical reference point from July 10, 2012, when BTC traded at $7.06, the same amount of coins would have been worth only $4,236 at that time.

The significant increase in value is due to Bitcoin's massive price surge over the years, with the current market price around the mid-$80,000 range.
