Dormant Bitcoin Wallet Wakes Up, Sends 20.43 BTC

A Bitcoin wallet that had been dormant for 15 years has suddenly come back to life, sending 20.43 BTC worth approximately $83,120.

According to Galaxy Research, this old wallet is just one of many from the 2010, 2011, and 2012 timeframes that have reactivated in September. In fact, on September 5th, a total of 600 BTC was transferred to new addresses, having been dormant for over 16 years.

The researchers estimate that the total value of these old wallets is around $1.7 million and that the cost of $BTC has been between $3 and $4 in this range.
