Dormant BTC Worth $457M Moves Amid Consolidation
A significant amount of dormant Bitcoin (BTC) moved in September, with 5,419.45 BTC valued at $457.23 million shifting to new addresses.
This is a decrease from August's record of 6,427.59 BTC, but still represents a substantial amount of activity.
The wallets created in 2016 led the activity, with 1,556.53 BTC moving across 13 transactions.
Roughly 57 out of 94 transfers involved Bitcoin that had been dormant for 12 to 16 years, suggesting a deliberate consolidation by sophisticated holders.
