The seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims for the week ending Sept. 5 dipped to 206,000, indicating stability in employment. However, August's Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand rose 0.4%, driven by a 4.2% jump in energy costs, bringing the unadjusted 12-month final demand increase to 5.4%.
