DTCC Teams with Chainlink on Collateral AppChain for 24/7 Operations
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has partnered with Chainlink to develop a Collateral AppChain for 24/7 operations. The platform will support collateral eligibility, valuation, margining, optimization, settlement, and related post-trade processes.
Designed as a multichain, multi-asset platform, the AppChain will connect tokenized securities, stablecoins, tokenized money market funds, crypto assets, and other tokenized instruments with existing market structures. The system will enable data sharing and automated processes across collateral management functions.
'By leveraging tokenization and distributed ledger technology (DLT) to modernize collateral mobility, our goal is to enable 24/7, near real-time collateral management across global markets and blockchains,' said DTCC Managing Director and Global Head of Digital Assets Nadine Chakar. The AppChain will integrate Chainlink's Runtime Environment (CRE) and data standard.
The Collateral AppChain is expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2026, following the success of the Great Collateral Experiment that demonstrated potential efficiency, visibility, and interoperability benefits from blockchain-based collateral workflows. DTCC processed securities transactions valued at $4.7 quadrillion in 2025.
