DYORSWAP Scam Drains $2.1M in Ethereum After Fake GIWA Chain Registration

A recent scam has drained approximately $2.1 million worth of Ethereum from users after the decentralized exchange DYORSWAP mistakenly registered a fake chain as the legitimate GIWA Chain.

The fake network, which had a chain ID of '9134', was recognized by DYORSWAP on the 27th (local time), and within four minutes it corrected the chain registration. However, the scam operators had already siphoned off approximately 766.25 ETH from 1,335 user wallet addresses that transferred a total of 767.65 ETH to the fake network.

Giant Interactive Web Application (GIWA) responded through X, stating that 'The GIWA Chain mainnet is not currently operational,' and it urged users to 'Please thoroughly verify contracts before transacting.'
