Early Bitcoin Miner's Holdings Estimated at 1.17 Million BTC

A recent study has estimated that one dominant early Bitcoin miner's holdings could be as high as 1.17 million BTC.

The estimate comes from a reconstruction of Bitcoin's earliest blocks, which identified 23,466 associated with the Patoshi mining pattern.

This statistical fingerprint is linked to the miner, but researchers emphasize that the blockchain does not establish a direct connection between the miner and Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin's creator.

The study also found 1.023 million BTC that had remained unmoved through September 1, 2026, valued at approximately $79 billion at that time.
