eCash Emerges as Bitcoin Hard Fork with Drivechain Support
eCash is a new cryptocurrency that emerged as a result of a Bitcoin hard fork initiated by developer Paul Sztorc. The project aims to build on Bitcoin's core architecture while introducing support for native Drivechains (BIP-300) and additional Layer 2 functionality.
The network is designed to be highly compatible with existing Bitcoin software, using the SHA-256 proof-of-work algorithm and maintaining compatibility wherever practical.
Bitcoin holders will be able to claim eCash on a 1:1 basis after the fork, allowing them to use the new cryptocurrency for experimentation with scalability, programmable sidechains, and protocol development.
