EdgeX Aims to Bridge Speed Gap Between Centralized Exchanges and Decentralized Finance
EdgeX is a decentralized exchange that aims to combine the speed and trading depth of centralized exchanges (CEX) with the self-custody benefits of decentralized finance (DeFi). The platform's V2 architecture runs on its own EDGE Chain, capable of processing up to 200,000 orders per second with matching latency below 10 milliseconds.
Unlike many decentralized exchanges (DEXs), EdgeX is building a high-performance on-chain trading stack for professional and active traders. It supports perpetual futures, spot markets, and tokenized global assets such as crypto, equities, and commodities.
The EDGE token serves as the ecosystem token, tied to governance, ecosystem growth, liquidity support, and a buyback-and-burn framework. EdgeX's long-term thesis is that global asset trading should move toward a self-custody, always-on model without sacrificing execution quality.
